Biggie, again

Back in January I blogged on the very large sculptures of Larry Young and David Adikes. When you click here, you can see another large sculpture - this time at the Exhibition of Monumental Sculptures being staged by the Sarasota (FL) Season of Sculpture which is a new and growing art organization.

The objectives of this outdoor art show are "to make large-scale public works of art accessible to all, to help build public support for art in public places, and to celebrate cultural diversity by including regional, national and international sculptures." (AAA Going Places, March/April 2006)

Some of the 27 sculptures in this group, commissioned from artists from Mexico, Italy, Cuba and England, to name just a few, range from 12 feet (that's the smaller style) up to 26 feet.
